My client are a global banking giant who have aspirations of being the biggest on the planet by the 2011.
Due to internal promotion we are currently seeking an Audit Manager who has experience of auditing the financial areas of the business whilst providing guidance to their team.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage audit work to ensure that relevant risks and controls have been identified and appropriately assessed.
Review and direct control evaluation and perform evaluation when appropriate
Provide guidance to Audit Seniors during audit assignments
Review and complete documentation of scoping, process understanding, risk & control identification, control evaluation and observations within the function
Lead discussions with auditees and business leaders regarding audit observations, consulting with the Head of Audit where necessary
Write high quality observations and audit reports with input from the audit team
Support management in identifying resolutions for control issues identified
Manage audit teams on a day-to-day basis, working to ensure that audits progress as planned, as regards scope, budget and timetable
Build relationships with auditees and business management on each audit and develop ongoing relationships with key stakeholders in aligned business area
In addition:
Continue to update awareness of risk issues and changes across relevant business units and use this knowledge to amend audit approach where necessary
Provide complete, accurate and timely information to stakeholders for audit reporting
Proactively take on additional tasks under the supervision of the Head of Audit. This may include involvement in recruitment of Audit Executives, managing Issue Assurance and continuous business monitoring
Knowledge & Experience - Essential:
Understanding of the control, regulatory and risk issues in Finance, able to demonstrate application of the knowledge
Displays specialist knowledge of Finance including taxation matters
Demonstrates understanding of Business and Finance and its key drivers
Experience in auditing complex financial services organisations
Understanding of relevant regulatory environment and current regulatory issues
Awareness of the specific current requirements of the UK GAAP and IFRS regimes; one or more financial management disciplines or taxation matters
Awareness of the specific current best practice for financial operations in banking organisations and financial reporting infrastructures in complex organizations
Experience in risk based auditing or risk/control activities
Awareness of the current/ emerging best practice in implementing Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 and good ability to translate these into audit strategies
Awareness of the impact of technology and IT based controls for the integrity of financial reporting, and ability to translate this awareness into integrated audit strategies
Relevant professional experience and qualification ACA, ACCA etc
Preferred:
Financial services industry knowledge
Knowledge of modern risk management, measurement and reporting and its impact on wider external stakeholder reporting
Knowledge of complex financial products and the way in which the measurement and disclosure is controlled and reported
International experience
Previous direct hands-on experience of one or more of due diligence, management accounting, activity based costing, business / personal taxation
